Didier Drogba at Chileka Airport

A giant walk,
From the buoyant Air Malawi plane,
Down the genuine Malawi soil,
On a dustless Thursday afternoon.

Well, Didier,
This you trod on,
A land of peace,
And a giant lake.

Malawi once were pieces,
Of great Orton Chirwa and John Childless dreams,
Dreams gathered under a painful chill.
Thangata, and Colonialism.

This where you trod,
Is the land of the giant Kamuzu,
A man with hands of steel,
A heart softened by patriotism

Patriotism kills,
If it rides the 'for-life' horse
But the damage was small,
Than the smiles.

This, where you trod,
A land of human Flames,
Who bury the living,
At Kamuzu stadium cemetary.

So the Elephants trod,
Into the merciless flame,
Though so warm a heart,
On October 10, 2009 no more.

The style you don Grogba,
That mutilated African hair,
Was once loathed by the Big Ngwazi,
Before the winds blew the memorable times away.
