How to celebrate a cheap Valentines Day

Consider celebrating Valentine's Day the day after. Gifts, flowers, and chocolates can all be found at a deep discount. Also, the restaurants will not be as packed.

Step 2
Instead of going to a restaurant, enjoy a nice dinner at home. You can often get expensive ingredients, such as lobster and steak, for less than the cost of going out.

Step 3Call into your local radio station to request "your" song. Then ask your loved one to dance!

Step 4
Write sweet notes and leave them around the house where your other half will find them. You could also hide small presents, or even do a scavenger hunt.

Step 5Have a frugal gift challenge. See who can find the most romantic gift for under $10 each. Try making CDs of his favorite music, or a thrift store knick-knack that may remind her of you.

Step 6
If you have children, consider having them make their own Valentine's Day cards.
