THE 2012 PRE-APPRENTICESHIP SELECTION RESULTS

Lilongwe, September, 26, 2012-Technical, Entrepreneurial, Vocational, Education and Training Authority (TEVETA), has released 1,580 names of those that have been selected to undergo training in various public and private technical colleges in Malawi.
There were 16, 236 applications received out of which 3,776 are females and 12, 460 are males representing a percentage ratio of 23:77 respectively. This represented a rise in female applicants from last year’s 21:79. A total of 149 People Living with Disabilities (PLWD’s) applied and 29 have been selected representing a 19.4% of the total PLWD’s.
The selected trainees are requested to report at their respective colleges on Monday 1st October, 2012. A grace period of three weeks until the 22nd of October, 2012 has been granted and failure to report by the stipulated date will render the place vacant.

All successful trainees have been notified in writing and they are required to pay fees amounting to K14,000 per term broken down as follows; K8,000 Boarding Fees, K5,000 Tuition Fees and 1,000 Book Fund. All selected trainees on day release should seek the assistance of their respective colleges on the information about lodging facilities. Each trainee must bring a work-suit and leather boots for safety during training, without which the trainee may not be allowed in the workshops for practical training.

The list of names of successful trainees can be found at any District Education Managers Office, District Labour Office, TEVET Desk Officer, all Technical Colleges and Regional TEVET Service Centres across the country.
